AARDWETENSCHAPPEN & DE ENERGIE TRANSITIE

Ervaar jouw rol als aardwetenschapper in de Energie Transitie. Wat komt er zoal kijken bij de ontwikkeling van een Carbon Capture & Storage project, een geothermie project, en hoe vergelijkt zich dat met een olie veld? Wil jij je begrip van je rol als Aardwetenschapper in de Energie Transitie in Nederland vergroten, schrijf je dan in voor dit 5-weekse project Energy Transition Challenge onder begeleiding van 3 alumni Aardwetenschappen Utrecht.
De cursus is opgezet als een team competitie. Als team krijg je een ondergrondse kaart, een putprofiel en nog wat andere data en wij begeleiden jullie dan op een reis die leidt naar het voorstellen van een ontwikkelingsplan voor deze ondergrondse schatten! Je zal ook veel van elkaar leren omdat tussentijdse resultaten en inzichten van alle teams uitgebreid besproken worden.
Deelname aan de ETC omvat 5 dinsdag middagen (13:30-16:30) college en discussie plus 2 uur per week werk in teamverband. Je ontvangt 3 SAC-punten voor deelname. Jullie zullen kaartlezen, produktie profielen maken, technische en ook niet-technische uitdagingen aanpakken en nadenken over de haalbaarheid van deze projecten vanuit zowel technische, economische, als ook maatschappelijke perspectieven. Ook zullen jullie de bijdrage van deze projecten plaatsen in het kader van de energie transitie vraagstukken in Nederland en om zo een beeld te krijgen van de omvang van de taken die voor ons allen ligt.

EARTH SCIENCES & THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Learn about your role as an earth scientist in the Energy Transition. What is involved in the development of a Carbon Capture & Storage project, a geothermal project, and how does this compare to an oil field? If you want to increase your understanding of your role as an Earth Scientist in the Energy Transition in the Netherlands, sign up for this 5-week Energy Transition Challenge project under the supervision of 3 Earth Sciences Utrecht alumni.

The course is set up as a team competition. As a team you get an underground map, a well profile and some other data and we then guide you on a journey leading to proposing a development plan for these underground treasures! You will also learn a lot from each other when interim results and insights from all teams are extensively discussed.

Participation in the ETC includes 5 Tuesday afternoons (13:30-16:30) of lecture and discussion plus 2 hours per week of teamwork. You will receive 3 SAC points for participating. You will read maps, create production profiles, tackle technical and non-technical challenges and consider the feasibility of these projects from technical, economic and social perspectives. You will also place the contribution of these projects in the context of the energy transition issues in the Netherlands and in this way get an idea of ​​the scope of the tasks that lie ahead of us all.
