Paleomagnetism; From Space Weather to Magnetic Navigation

Dear reader,

On the 16th of December the symposium about Paleomagnetism; From Space Weather to Magnetic Navigation will take place. Paleomagnetism is the study of Earth’s ancient magnetic field as recorded in rocks when they form. By examining these magnetic signatures, scientists can reconstruct past field directions and intensities, offering crucial evidence for plate tectonics and helping to date geological events. Paleomagnetic data also support geomagnetic models, connect Earth’s magnetic behavior to processes such as space weather, and are used in fields like stratigraphy and magnetic navigation.

The symposium is in Minnaert in room 2.02, 16th December from 13:30 – 19:30. You will receive the program booklet and further details a week before the start of the symposium.
This symposium will be held in English.
U.A.V. members can earn SAC-points by attending.
Sign up for the symposium below.

We hope to see you at the Symposium!

With kind regards,
The 81th board of the Earth Sciences Association Utrecht
