Lecture Paul Mason

Dear Members,

Missed the FEST of Paul Mason a while ago? No stress! The 6th of April he will be back to teach us even more about Earth’s earliest landmasses.

In his talk, Paul mason will outline a new method for calculating the extent of the crust between 3600 and 3200 million years ago by using strontium isotopes in hydrothermal barites. Answering the question on the amount of crust that emerged above sea level has major implications for determining the onset of the carbonate-silicate wheatering cycle, nutrient delivery to the oceans and biological evoliution.

Curious? Join the talk on 6 april between 17:00 – 18:00 in Minnaert 2.01. Bonus, you can earn a SAC-point!

With kind regards,

Fleur Rothstegge
