Welcome to the U.A.V.

The Utrecht Earth Sciences Association

About Us

The Utrecht Earth Sciences Association (U.A.V.) is the association for earth sciences at the University of Utrecht. The association was created in 2012 as a result of a fusion of two societies, the U.G.V. and Drift ’66, and has since been able to grow to a society of over 900 active members.

The social aspect around studying plays an important role at the U.A.V. Multiple activities are organised for its members like, Thursday afternoon social drinks, sportive activities, foreign travels, and other sociable festivities. The U.A.V. had numerous committees and has 5 sub-societies. The U.A.V. operates out of the Buys Ballot Building at the Utrecht University. Room 2.63 is known as the “U.A.V.-room” and is the place where the board and a large part of the members can often be found.

Study related activities like lectures, symposia and tutoring are a big part of the U.A.V. as well. With monthly lectures and two symposia, we try to invest a lot of time in this subject as the U.A.V.

Apart from this, the U.A.V. also has a career oriented part. With multiple company presentations, company visits, internships, and vacancy offers we attach a high value to the future careers of our members.
