Introductie Masters

Experience a great start to your study by meeting new friends, seeing the city of Utrecht, and getting to know Utrecht University. Besides that, you will have the opportunity to get in touch with companies that are eager to meet you. If you are enrolled in either Marine Sciences (MRS), Earth Life & Climate (ELC), Earth Surface & Water (ESW) or Earth Structure & Dynamics (ESD) you are welcome to participate in the introduction period. The events will take place in the first week of the academic year (4th of September 2023). Every activity is planned around the university’s schedule, so don’t worry about having to skip lectures! You will receive the program and more information from the university. The U.A.V. organises the social activities and the symposium during the introduction week. Below you can find our schedule.

Monday, September 4th

What: Canal Cruise
Time: 16:10 – 18:30
Location: Oosterkade

On monday afternoon we will go for a canal cruise on boats! You can bring your own drinks and snacks (alcohol allowed) to this perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow students. Make sure you are on time, because the boat will be leaving at 16:30. Leaving towards Oosterkade from Science Park? Join the group at 15:00 in front of the Buys Ballot Building!

 

Tuesday, September 5th

What: Campus Tour
Time: 10:00 – 11:00
Location: Entrance Victor J. Koningsberger Building

Not yet familliar with your surroundings here? Let us show you arround! Two excited tour guides will show you our campus. The starting point of the tour is the entrance of Victor J. Koningsberger building.

What: Barbecue
Time: 17:00 – 20:00
Location: Entrance Victor J. Koningsberger Building

A free barbecue! Join us at the end of the afternoon for a vegetarian plate and socialize with your fellow students.

Wednesday, September 6th

What: Symposium
Time: 11:00 – 13:00, 15:00 – 17:00
Location: Marinus Ruppertgebouw, room Ruppert Wit

A symposium is organised for all masters. Interesting speakers will tell more about subjects they are specialized in. The following topics will be covered:

Poster Session
In the afternoon from 15:00 to 17:00 a poster session is organised, where alumni and PhD candidates will present their works! This is a good way to speak to people who’ve finished your masters, and to see what they accomplished with it. After the poster session there is room for drinks!
