Het is zover! DE educatieve activiteit van het jaar is weer daar, de onderwijsexcursie! Wij zullen dit jaar het UNESCO geopark de Hondsrug bezoeken! We hebben een heus internationaal erkend geopark in ons eigen land, maar de aardwetenschappers hier weten er eigenlijk weinig van! Wat maakt dit zo’n uniek gebied? Waarom is er een Hunebedcentrum? Deze vragen en nog veel meer zullen beantwoord worden op Zaterdag 15 maart.
Er is voor ieder wat interessants! We zullen eerst de stenen en fossielencollectie van het Hunebedcentrum bekijken (alles is gevonden in het park zelf!) en een rondleiding krijgen door de expositie van het geopark. Na de lunch zullen we vertrekken met onze gids, de directeur van het geopark, om een educatieve wandeling te maken door het landschap van de hondsrug. Hier zal hij vertellen en laten zien hoe je het landschap kan lezen en hoe het gevormd is. Ook zal hij iets vertellen over hoe je verhalen interessant kan maken voor educatieve doeleinden. Misschien valt er zelfs wat moois te vinden!
Hierna zullen voor de liefhebbers pannenkoeken gaan eten in een heus oud-saksische pannenkoekenboerderij! (Volgens de heer de Keijzer de beste pannenkoeken die hij ooit heeft gehad!). Dit zal op eigen kosten zijn.

Kortom! Bent U geinteresseerd in lesgeven, archeologie, paleontologie, petrologie en/of geologie? Geef U dan snel op op de kamer voor deze trip die U niet snel zal vergeten! Voor deze activiteit krijgt u maar liefst 2 SAC-punten.
De richtprijs is 13 euro.
Vertrek om 9:00 vanaf de Uithof, verwachte aankomsttijd terug op de Uithof is 21 uur.

The time has come! THE educational activity of the year is back again, the educational excursion! This year we will visit the UNESCO geopark the Hondsrug! We have a real internationally recognized geopark in our own country, but the earth scientists here actually know little about it! What makes this such a unique area? Why is there a Hunebed Center? These questions and many more will be answered on Saturday, March 15.
There is something interesting for everyone! We will first view the stone and fossil collection of the Hunebed Center (everything has been found in the park itself!) and take a tour of the geopark exhibition. After lunch we will leave with our guide, the director of the geopark, to take an educational walk through the landscape of the Dog Ridge. Here he will tell and show how you can read the landscape and how it is formed. He will also tell you something about how you can make stories interesting for educational purposes. Maybe there’s even something beautiful to be found!
After this, you can enjoy pancakes in a real old Saxon pancake farm! (According to Mr. de Keijzer, the best pancakes he has ever had!). This will be at your own expense.
